WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT AND HOW DO WE USE IT?

Personal information is any information that can be used to identify you. It can include your name, date of birth, email address, postal address and telephone and/or mobile phone number.

We collect personal information when you make a donation to the Brigade, either directly or via JustGiving/PayPal.

For one-off donations we will only contact you if there is an issue with your donation.

Should you join as an Honorary Member, personal information is all retained and you will be asked whether you wish to:

– receive all communications we release, which will include e-mails covering recent incidents, fundraising events, and other key information

– receive communications related to incidents only

– receive no communication (other than regarding your annual honorary membership subscription

Alternatively, if you request only to join our mailing list, you will receive communications relating to callouts and other key Brigade events, with your name and e-mail address retained in our database.

Please note that personal information is never passed on to any third parties. We will always seek your consent to the use of your personal information by giving you the option to say ‘no’ to its use. This option might take the form of a tick box, clicking an icon, sending an email or submitting a form. When we seek your consent to using your personal information, we will tell you what we want to use it for and, other than as described in this policy, we won’t use it for any other purpose.

Any information we collect is stored and processed in the UK. Where this is not the case, we will inform you and where appropriate, seek your consent. When we collect your personal information we use strict procedures and security features to prevent unauthorised access. However, Tynemouth Volunteer Life Brigade cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us and you do so at your own risk.

CONFIDENTIALITY

Tynemouth Volunteer Life Brigade treats your contact with us as confidential unless there is a risk of serious harm or abuse to you or someone else. In this instance, we may have to pass this information onto a third party such as the emergency services.
